Abstract

There’s nothing quite like a refreshing, cold run to clear your mind and jumpstart your body. But for some, the joys of winter running come with an unexpected consequence: ear pain. It happens to the best of us—you’re on a chilly run and slowly start to feel a throbbing, aching pain in your ear canal. If you’re  wearing headphones, the buds suddenly feel sharp and irritating. Ear pain really takes the fun out of dashing through the snow, but the good news is that there are reasons why it happens, and ways to prevent it.
